Feedback on Website Draft

This is our first draft of our website design. We decided to show it to our classmates and ask for their opinion, so that we can then come up with an action plan and note what we have to improve on and what we need to add or remove. Click here to get to the first draft of the website created by Chris.

The feedback we received is the following:

1. The font needs to be bigger on the homepage. The buttons, such as "Home", and for other pages are too small and may be too difficult to find.
2. Homepage and Biography pages look like tabs. This links in with the first point as the text is too small to be recognised properly.
3. The band name needs to be bigger. The website looks empty the way it is now.
4. Change the band name to Aether - we have, thus far, agreed on a different name for the band and have yet to make the changes.
5. A photoshoot with the band members is necessary. This is crucial, even if it is just headshots for the biography page. Even though our representation is organic, we have to introduce them somehow.
6. The effects on the homepage is effective. This is nice, but personally I find it quite irritating, and unsure whether low-end computers could successfully run it or not.
7. More text is needed. As this was a first draft, there wasn't a lot of copy to work with. We are in the process of producing more.
8. The simplistic layout is good. Again, I feel that it isn't quite the right look however many others seem to like it a lot.
9. Album review, and audience interaction. This is quite important, and needs to be done through some kind of social media aspect of the page.
10. The titles need to be bigger. This is obvious as to why.
11. "Check out our latest" single release. This is necessary as the website is supposed to help promote the new album/music video.
12. The locations of shows must be changed. At the moment, the shows are at very small venues and the dates are very close to one another. This would mean that our band isn't very successful, and we would like to make them appear as if they were a bit of a bigger hit.
13. Link to a page where you can make faux tickets. This will be helpful in making the entire homepage more interactive.
14. What record company is behind all this?
15. When talking about the music video, mention the actor who played the mad scientist. I suppose adding background information is always useful.

From this feedback I gather that we still have a lot to do, however these are all changes which were inevitable and needed to be done anyway.
