Audience Feedback on our Music Video 2

In order to get some more feedback on the video we created, click here to see it, I sent around the link to several friends and groups over social media to see what they thought.

The overall feedback so far has been very positive. The general opinion about the entire video is that it's good and enjoyable to watch, as well as the storyline. One person even commented that it reminded them of Doctor Who due to the jump in time - this also shows that the viewers understood that it is a transport to the future, which I am really excited about, as not everyone who gave feedback previously seemed to have understood what was going on. Many people enjoyed that there was a storyline, which didn't make the video boring to watch - a few said it was more interesting than watching people simply sing into a microphone and kept the interest the whole video through.

One thing that really surprised me is that many of the people replied with that they liked the mad scientist! In our other feedback of the music video, found here, many said that the actor who played the mad scientist wasn't right for the part or looked strange; I think this may be because the people who we asked initially were pupils at our school, where they know the person who played the part - as they know how he acts and what he is like on a day to day basis; this may have had a huge impact on how they perceive the character. A few thought that he was a strong addition to the video as it helped to build a contrast between the unconventionality of the rest of the video. Many say he also fit the part quite well as he has that certain look.

Another viewer said that the set design was well thought out and that it was effective in conveying the different time periods, as well as the set up of the mad scientist's lab. I'm very glad that people liked the set as it was very expensive and time consuming to create - also, we still haven't found that one piece of science equipment that we borrowed from the department and I'm pretty sure they'll have our head if we don't find it.

A couple of responses commented on the camera work, and that it was quite unstable and shaky at times. They say it could have been improved, especially because sometimes the head was cut off a little bit at times, which, due to some camera angles was inevitable. In some other instances this is understandable.

I then also went ahead and sent people the link to my blog incase they were interested in the behind the scenes of how we made the video; a lot of feedback was that it made it very interesting after knowing how many people were involved and what it took to get to the final product. This is something that I am definitely proud of.
