Music Video Idea 1

"Home" by Deluka

The idea for this music video comes from the concept behind the lyrics "So let me go Home, Home, Home, Go Home..." which are often repeated within the song itself.

The story aspect of the video is set in a back-stage area/a stage infront of an empty theatre audience. The main idea is that a girl, around the age of 17-19 is getting over her stage fright whilst the other members of the band are setting up the scenery, which then ends in a performance where she does gain her confidence.

Since the song repeats the word "Home" so much, I came up with this idea because "Home" doesn't always have to be physical, but can also represent the psychological need for comfort. The scenes within the music video would represent her discomfort with her situation, but also show her overcoming the fear to become stronger than before. 

I feel that this video should be edited to black and white in Post to represent her discomfort, and when the sound of the music changes slightly, which also represents her becoming comfortable and getting over her fears, it should turn colourful. This may also make it more relatable because it would represent the person coming out of the darkness and stepping into the light, which would initially mean that she's gained the confidence she needed.

I feel that instead of a constant performance of drums, a piano, guitarist and lead singer being set up throughout the whole video, the lead singer should be singing solo before she gains her confidence to go infront of an audience to make the message of the video come across more. 

I feel that this idea does fit in with the imagery of the original artist, because I haven't seen who the people behind the band name "Deluka" are, and seem to be staying out of the spotlight. With this video idea you could also interpret that the woman is reluctant to show herself to the world and make herself known, and is unsure whether she should do so.

I imagine the lead singer to be someone with dark-brown and dark brown eyes, and a rather adult looking face, rather than a youthful face. The girl should look natural, not too much make up, and definitely not made up to look popular, but rather held back and shy.

To show the nerves of the main character within the music video a similar scene to this should be used

I think that this idea for a music video is quite good, as almost everyone who wants to go into the music industry has most likely experienced stage fright at one point and has to learn to get over their fears, and to become stronger than before.

I think that this video can also relate to other people even if they're not performing, but to find the mental comfort and learn how to get over their problems.

Campaign:

I feel to fit in with the music video idea, this type of website would be the best because the band seems to be trying to make their music more known than the band itself. The website design would be quite calm, but also fit in with the mental note of comfort that is being looked for within the song.

Similarily, I would like to represent this in the digipak. However, rather than also using instruments on that, I think that a drawing would be quite interesting as this would be able to represent a little more personal touch and therefore be more intruiging.
