Finalising Props

We have been trying to finalise our props so that we have everything ready for Tuesday the 8th of November, which is our shoot day. The majority of props have been sourced by the set designers and the instruments have been sourced by the people participating as well. These items have already been finalised.

Most of the props we have sourced for the 1920's jazz club will be used in the futuristic component as well, so it wasn't too difficult to find these. The only thing that we had to find were the instruments which would be changing from a traditional one to a futuristic looking one. The piano we have will be an old-stand up one, changing to an electronic keyboard, and the violin will be changing from traditional to electronic as well. The only thing that doesn't change is the saxophone, which is pink.

There are a large variety of props which are included in the mad scientist element because we want his workspace to look very disorganised. We have been to the science department to source props which would be found in such an office, such as test tubes, and so on. We have also got a large amount of wires and four old computers which we can transmit videos onto and project videos of our dancers and musicians.

The costumes have already been sourced from Elizabeth, click here to get to the email about organising them, and are ready to go. Today we will have the dancers try them on and practise their dances in them. The only thing we are missing now are the goggles for the scientist, which have been ordered via Amazon and should be arriving today.

Excellent detailed blogging - what more could I ask for? Great progress on the shot list. You show good understanding of what is required – detailed and organised & the storyboard has been used to help organise and plan the video shoot. As an organic process your shot list will develop and prepare you for lies ahead. This has been well presented as a google document and with visual guides as well. You have attempted to structure what will be filmed using which actors and which props during each part of your shoot day. This is clearly organised into set-ups and builds – an excellent call list – is this doubling up as a shoot schedule?

Make the point that media production is social collaboration which requires a division of labour – specialised skills in order to manufacture the right shots in getting the correct representation of the star image for the ‘pop promo’ and single release.
