Beginning to Edit [omo]

Today I went up to the edit suite to look at the footage that we shot on Tuesday and begin editing. First, the footage has to be reviewed and then it has to be logged, as well as then all synced to the time. As we have over 200 shots this took a very long time.

To start off the editing process I went ahead and named every single shot with what it showed. The futuristic elements are identifiable through a "F" before the name of the shot. It makes it so much easier to look through the footage and know immediately what it is instead of going through a long series of shots with the same name scavenging for one certain shot.

I was then about to begin syncing up the shots that I feel are the best; I had just finished doing this and then discovered that every single shot has to be synced up, which kind of annoyed me because now there is a mess in the syncing. It should be fine in the end though, as they are all labelled clearly.

I am very excited to begin editing properly. I feel that the close-ups and mid-shots look better than the wide shots, but thankfully we have all the shots we need.
