What we were thinking of is a 1920s jazz club as our set. This would consist of stylish furniture such as wooden chairs and wooden tables, perhaps with table cloths on it. We would have a stage in the background that elevates the instrumentalists. The theatre department has a lot of these props, especially from Speakeasy last year, so it wouldn't be a big issue for us to create this setting.
Here is what we were thinking of having for our set, which would look like a 1920's jazz club, with a stage in the background and perhaps the dancers in the foreground.
This could be the futuristic setup, although I still have doubts about that.
This is what the setup within the shipping container for the mad scientist would look like.
Next to this, we were thinking of our dancers and everyone else (except for the performers) having flapper dresses and suits, as well as accessories such as feather headbands, pearls, heels, and so forth. The performers would be wearing black trousers, white blouses, a black bow tie and a black bowler hat. The scientist could be sporting steampunk fashion. These items would all be quite easy to get because the costume department could supply us with them, and they probably aren't too expensive to get on amazon.
This is something that I imagine the scientist would be wearing
