Looking at our Ideas: My ideas (Re-Evaluation)

When we were discussing our music video ideas in the group we also discussed my ideas and actually began to develop one of them.

The first song I had chosen, and my favourite idea, was for a song called "Home" by "Deluka", a band which has no more than around 68 thousand views on their VEVO, on YouTube.

Again, in comparison to the other two, the songs I have chosen are in a completely different genre.
Whilst this is not a large problem, all three of us will have to agree on something that we will all enjoy shooting and may therefore come up with an entirely new idea that all of us will agree with, combining suggestions from our first three ideas, each.
The original idea I had went along with the deeper meaning behind the lyrics of the song, which were "So let me go home, home, home...". I associated this with discomfort in a certain role and decided to build a narrative around it. Even though I don't have a specific performance element within my idea, I think by using a lip sync and a performance element in the end, it could work.
My idea starts off with the band setting up everything backstage for their performance, and getting ready, whilst the lead singer has to mentally prepare for the show she's about to do and hasn't quite gained the confidence she needed. The music video idea follows her around as she attempts to prep herself up to go infront of a large audience and then sing the song "live". Whilst this is a decent idea I can see the faults within it and can see how this can be made difficult. The singer in this song has quite a unique voice, and therefore it may be quite challenging to find someone who would a) match the voice, and b) who would be willing to sing live infront of a lot of people.

I also told them about my third idea, which was in accordance with the song "My House" from "Tokyo Police Club". The blog post in itself is quite confusing because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for my idea just yet, but I knew I didn't really want a narrative in accordance with it, and wanted something psychadelic or surrealistic within the video. A prime example of this would be "I Won't Let You Down" from "OK Go".

When I told them about the idea, they didn't like the song too much, however they enjoyed "Home" by "Deluka" more and discussed how they could incorporate my third music video idea into my first music video song choice. Nanci came up with the idea of perhaps having a giant AS flashmob on the tennis court with a lot of people wearing funky coloured t-shirts, however I think in order for it to be a proper flashmob they would have to be in sync, and for it to look half decent. Also, I think it could be difficult coordinating that many people and perhaps pulling them out of lessons. So this is something that must be considered before anything else.
