When thoroughly thinking about the thriller we want to create, it is set up to be quite violent, or at least in the sense that there is a lot of graphic content (we are planning to use a lot of fake blood in order for it to appear more gruesome).
I think that our target audience may be males in between the ages of 15-20 or from 21-39. The reason for this is that nowadays, video games are becoming more prominent. These video games are becoming more realistic, and some of them include violent acts and show graphic images. Because of this, I believe that younger audiences won't be as fazed by the amount of fake blood we are aiming to use in the opening sequence, as they may have grown immune to it.

However, on the other hand, our target audience may also be women judging by the fact of how gruesome we want to make our thriller. Some people may say that our idea could cut into the horror genre, rather than staying in the thriller genre. I believe our opening sequence will most likely be a representation of a psychological horror-thriller. Another possible target audience, therefore, could be females in between the ages of 18-24. When looking at the statistics of a survey conducted by National Metro, we can clearly see that more women seem to enjoy horror movies. Therefore, on the other hand, women might as well be our target audience.

In conclusion, I'm not quite sure who exactly our target audience could be. Because of the uprising violence in video games I have reason to believe it could be younger males, but I also have reason to believe that it could be young women due to the statistics that they enjoy horror movies more.
