Auditioning the Dancers

Right before half-term we messaged the five girls we wanted to audition for our music video to audition them the Monday we came back. Click here to get to the post where we eMailed them the second time. When the time came, only three of the dancers, namely Cressie, Oriana and Sally, had shown up.

We decided that if necessary we would audition Elise and Honour later on at house, however it turns out that this wasn't necessary, as the dancers worked very well together and looked good together as well. We cast them immediately.

To begin with, we told the three girls that we didn't have a routine for them to learn, and that they would have to come up with something together in time for the music video, as neither Chris, Nanci, or myself can choreograph dance moves. We asked the three girls to improvise on the spot, and these are the results. It ties in quite well with what we were imagining, click here to get to the post about the 1920's style dances.

This would be the dance, or part of the dance, for the 1920's style

We also filmed each of the girls performing the 1920's style dance they had come up with in about 10 minutes, so that we could see how they worked alone as well.

Cressie Dancing to the Tune

Oriana Dancing to the Tune

Sally Dancing to the Tune

We also asked them to come up with a small dance routine on the spot for the futuristic component of the music video, and what they have come up with in such a short amount of time is very impressive. Here are the results. It is also along the lines of what we were imagining for this element, click here to get to the post about the futuristic style dances.
