Similar Products - Websites

I have been looking at websites of artists that relate to the genre "Electronic Swing", as that is what kind of music our band is essentially creating. What I have been looking for is that classic 1920's style which then properly allows us to show what our band would be about, whilst still remaining organic. It may help us to properly target the audience properly.

This website is absolutely stunning. This artist is called "The Electric Swing Circus", and their website clearly depicts the 1920's style. The dark colour scheme replicates the beautiful dark colours that are often found in jazz clubs, or similar. It gives a nostalgic feel, which I like as well. The simple design of the logo, and the lines of above the "Sign-up for news" matches the timeframe as well, as this pattern is true to this era. We would like to depict our artist to be more organic. This band seems to do this as well, however choose to stand in the spotlight and wish to show themselves in this way. This is shown through the Festival Portrayal and their excited faces on the stage.

The website portrays tour dates and a music video, as well as a small description. The overall muted colour scheme gives a very vintage look to the entire website and gives it that appeal of professionalism at the same time. It is very elegant.

In order for the artists to market themselves as well as allow the audience to engage with the artists more, they have added latest news to the website, where people can look up on them and find it entertaining.

This website starts off with an opening page where it showcases the newest music video, and allows the audience to enter the homepage. The website is quite dark, and the font is a bronze/golden colour, which makes it look very elegant and is also time specific to the 1920s. It sets the scene perfectly.

Once "Enter Homepage" is clicked, the dark background and golden/bronze writing theme continues. It stays quite simple, which yet again, sets the scene for this music genre. It connotes that the artist is organic, as they deliberately choose to stay out of the spotlight and allow for their logo and name to appear larger, as they want their music to be heard rather than it to be about the people.

Lastly, when "Videos" is clicked, the website changes to a white background with the writing and the logo to become blue. I believe this is to make the videos easier to look at. However, due to the same font and general layout to be used, it still gives a vintage vibe and therefore seems to be quite successful.
