Black and White

Because much earlier in the year, when still thinking about our idea, we discussed that we may want the 1920's part to be in black and white, I decided to try it out with our latest edit. This way, time can be saved when actually editing in the edit suite. I am quite unsure as to what to think of it, as whilst it does look cool, it does look a bit odd when colours suddently appear.

The black and white adds to the timeframe which we are attempting to depict, however I am unsure whether the parts of the mad scientist should be in black and white, also. Perhaps alternating between grayscale and colour isn't the best idea.

What was suggested to me by my boyfriend was to add a splash of colour in the black and white, so that it doesn't look entirely gray scale, using the "Leave Colour" tool. This might be an interesting effect.

Here is a tutorial on how to do this in Premiere Pro.
